A couple of conversions have been done using the 21st century 1/18 scale offering.

Asiatam sell a 1/16 model of the Sd Kfz 9 18 ton 'Famo' - not cheap but there it is - couldn't find a link- they might be out of stock.

They make a Maultier - http://www.asiatam.com/product_info....tigmodell.html

They also, if I remember correctly sell track for a 1/16 Sd Kfz 251 but I've never seen a model kit wrapped around these. (http://www.asiatam.com/product_info....ss-1---16.html)

There are some sites selling German 1/2 Tracks in 1/16 ---
www.store-juckenburg.de
these people are selling two different types but they are both RESIN kits.
www.ludwigs-hobby-seite.de
These are quality kits but you provide the electrics and they do need a fair level of ability.
Neither of these dealers products are cheap but as I like to remind buyers in the USA you must remind any dealer in the EU that you are not liable for VAT(VALUE ADDED TAX).

Here is the link to Chris Ludwig's Sdkfz. 250. It has the 20mm turret. It is a kit.Chris has metal tracks, a drive system, and road wheels.

Chris also has the SWS as well in kit form.

you are looking for those , were produced by mk.modelle.de wich is out of business 5 years ago
this is mine

it was an almost total conversion, the innerdetails of the mk modelle were quite wrong and lacks many futures the real ones had ... so i love details and busy now on four of them 1/16 full rc hanomags ausf D and C

the almost end result full rc

on the mk modelle were a lot of open spaces wich need filling for strongness and waterproof driving , those two are sold the next ones keep ing here in my collection
mk modelle uses the 1/25 panther chassis for these hanomags , uses the panthertracks also ... mk modelle used plastic hinges were broken soon on the rc model i renewed them with metal hinges from asiatam , no worry's any more on fairs to open the doors ... etc ...
my new ones will be out of one piece (just like ludwigs cnc kits were made) and with asiatam tracks

Hello, I started a project about a year ago to build my own 251 from a 21st century toy version.

Mine uses Asiatam tracks, Ludwig front suspension and drive sprockets. Spektrum radio gear and a whole lot of custom work to get it where it is now.

It's almost done just finishing up the turret with 2 cm gun. So far it runs great, tracks stay on and it goes off road so much better then the Torro M-16 halftrack I owned.

If you can wait a few weeks till I finish it up I'll post plenty pics but mine isn't as detailed as the discontinued kit pictured above, I only wish that it were. If that kit can be had today please someone let us know as I would love to have one.

I've always wanted a 'proper' half track kit in 1/16, but what is available isn't bad at all. I like Christian's kit.

Couple year ago I threw together one from the above mentioned 21st Century static models, you can take a look here http://can-amrctankclub.canadian-for...1-22-halftrack
