Default Saito FG-60R3

Starting a new thread for the Saito FG-60R3. Based on the comment below, it looks like this version of the Saito gas radial features the intake plenum and conrod bushing mods which have address the short comings with the FG-33R3 and the FG-84R3.

I don't think so, the FG-33R3 is currently listed on HH site at $1229.99. I bet the FG-60R3 will be listed some where between $1400.00 to $1550.00usd!!

I may have mispoken, my apologies. $1199.99 is more accurate.

Craig, no need to apologize, you didn't mis-speak, you just mis-typed. I cannot believe that HH would bring a brand new FG-60R3 to market and sell it for $1199.99 when the FG30R3 is listed at $1229.99. It just sounds too good to be true!!

Hi All.

Speaking as an 'ex' Saito fan (of a couple of decades) you may wish to hold fire with this engine
and see how it performs before spending a rather large sum of money.

It might also be worth reading the numerous threads on the FG series....to see what
you might expect performance wise.

happy landings...

Yeah - I have a FG-33R3 with the mods which are now included on the FG-60 and I love it! Looking forward to the bigger version!

Right on!

looking forward to picking this up! But, admittedly, I'm struggling with airframe selection for this size radial engine. Anything new coming down the H9 pipeline suited for this bad boy?

Cheers

Hi Mark,

I noticed you mentioned the mods. Has it in fact been confirmed that the Ray English mods have been adopted by Saito.
I have a Bates Hawker Tempest that this power plant would be perfect in, but would like to wait until the mods have been confirmed first.

thx
Dave

Post #11 confirms the addition of the master rod bushing. As of this writing only the FG-60R3 has the bushing in production.

CRG, is the scheduled arrival of this motor still on track? hope there are no delays like the people who have been waiting for the Evolution 60FI motor. I just ordered the Keleo ring for this motor. really looking forward to getting it. Merry Christmas to me.

Hi Tom,

Yes FG-60R3s are on schedule. I don't have a precise date but it should be somewhere around December 8th.

What airframe did you decide on? Looks like the FG-60R3 should turn a good size prop!

Cheers
