Default GP Waco?

Iwas looking at Towers "just announced" page and saw this:

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LNAAVT&P=G

No pictures or details but I definitely like bipes and planes from that era.

Looks like there is a video link though. Now if only my broadband connection would stop behaving like dial-up I could watch it.

Managed to watch the video. Looks like a yellow base with black accents. Very nice looking airplane.

I think this might have to go on my list of wants. It should be perfect with a little 20-30cc gas engine.

Now if they will just do a Stinson Reliant...

The WACO YMF-3 and YMF-5 is the most beautiful biplane to ever sprout wings!

I bet $10 this is the Cox ARF.

Cox bought Pica, and for awhile sold a 1.20 and a .60 size ARF of the Pica kit.  Then Hobbico bought out Cox.  I campaigned Hobbico to revive this ARF so you can thank me very much.

On the other hand, after nearly five years of hoping to find one of these beauties, I gave up.  I finally located a very old Pica kit of the .60 size, and commissioned Bill Phillips in North Carolina to build the airframe for me.  I'm now finishing it out.  I can't say I wish I had waited because the model that Bill built for me has some re-engineering in it that will make it superior to any ARF.  Even so . . . . .

By the way, there's an ENORMOUS thread on this model and other WACOs:

That's a pretty nice looking new ARF. Perfect for the new Saito 200 radial.

GP is being very tight-lipped about it until after the AMA Show in LA next month.

I got a sample issue of "Sport Flyer" magazine in the mail yesterday. It had an add for the Waco in it but that's about all I have seen anywhere. Hopefully I will be able to make it to the AMA show this year and see this and all the other new stuff. It's only a 3-4 hour drive from me but I never seem to be able to go for various reasons.

I'll see. It seems like there is always something else I am obligated to do during that weekend. The club has a bus chartered to go down but I think it is on a weekday so I can't do that. I will have to drive down on Saturday if I go.

How come RCU doesn't send some of you guys out to cover it?

Like any business, RCU has a budget so they have to figure out how much is worth spending for coverage per event. If it comes down to covering the AMA show (which is still not all that huge) or something like Toledo or Top Gun, the AMA show is going to lose. []

Believe me, if they want to send us, Ken and I are ready!

One of these days I would like to make it to the Toledo show. I'll see if I make it to the AMA. Maybe get up really early on Saturday morning, drive down and be home late that evening.
