Default Replacement Air Cylinders for Skymaster 1/6th scale F-16 main gear doors

I have a 8 or 9 or 10 year old Skymaster F-16 1/6th scale. It has the original shiny silver 1/4" diameter air cylinders on the main gear doors. My observations and experience with this cylinders says they are junk. I have no idea if Skymaster still uses these cylinders or not. I intend to replace them and need to know if others have done the same and if so what cylinders did they use. I am thinking of trying Ultra precision from Canada or I see dreamworks has some of their own brand. I need 1 5/8 inch stroke minimum, might be able to get buy with 1 1/2 inch.

have had four of these and have replaced the air cylinders on three of them, because the stock skymaster cylinders were not strong enough to hold the doors closed when flying at speed , I used the ultra Precision 2-1/2 for the mains and 1-1/4 for for the nose. I did had to make my own attachment points though not a big deal just a little bit of fitting of G10

Ultra Precision has been bought out by Model Aviation Products. Might want to contact John and see what he recommends. https://modelaviationproducts.com/

A little trick I learned a while ago, when you set your gear cylinders, attach them so that they pull very hard on the door in the retracted position, so that the cylinder can't fully retract. Then attach the end fitting to the little horn on the door using a small o-ring or small rubber band. This will seal the door almost air-tight against the belly.

Thanks RC Man and to all responders. What length of cylinder are you using in this picture ? I assume this is working in all regards since you called it your "solution" ?
