Love this jet. Only thing I would change is to put gear doors on the mains. But thats it

It does has main gear doors. They come with all 3 gear doors but your on your own on attaching them and making them work. I will put all the gear doors on this one after Kentucky jets. I still dont have the gear and its being shipped to Kentucky straight to the event so hope it shows early in the week.

During assembly on the Kingtech T-1 I noticed the ball links in my opinion are made backwards. Ball links are made so that when they come apart they can only go one way. Well these ball links with the kit when the link pops off the ball it goes the wrong way so that you would loose control of the surface. When I hook up ball links I always make sure the no go side faces out so if it does fail it will fail inward towards the linkage so you dont loose the plane.

Options
>Use different linkages
>Remove the ball and insert it from the opposite direction so it cant fail to the outside. (this is what I did because I dont have time to get new ones)
>use a flat washer so if it does pop off the washer will save it from coming all the way off.

My recommendation would be to get new ones if possible.
We will be upfront and honest about the good and bad that we find with this plane. I will talk to the factory and see if they can make a change to linkages before they go out but not sure if the changes will take effect before then.

Holy crap great prices!! Is the depth and width of engine compartment big enough for an AMT NL Pegasus HP to fit in this bird? As much as I'd like to get a new K160 would rather just use what I have on the shelf

Hmmmm

I guess I am not following you on the ball link issue.
Those are similar to ones used on helicopters for decades ( I have been using them since the 70's.
There is no lateral force that would cause the link to " pop " off. Nevertheless if you are in the least worried
then place a washer between the head bolt and the ball and that sucker will never depart.
Its a non issue for me. Check out the smack down, hard 3D that heli guys do with those links.....!!!

Cheers

Gunradd as you get the time in between doing everything, could you please list the gear you are using in this jet (servos, valves, replacement hardware, etc)? Appreciate the pics and insights so far.

No instruction manual yet. Not sure when that will be done. Wish I had time I could have done one for them. Its all pretty basic though. For CG and throws I am going to start with what I3DM is using on his. His is flying great so would be a great place to start.

Pics on her feet. The gear doors will probably have to wait until after kyjets. Also on a good note the tail is just high enough I can push the plane with out bending over to much

Chris how do you like those savox servos? Which ones are you using? I have 8411's for the whole plane but have to use LiFe A123 Batteries with them But was considering using HV for use with my Powersafe receiver and straight lipos

When you do can you measure the width and depth of engine compartment. Need to see if an Peggy HP will fit. 5" in diameter
